A Tart for Ember Day

1/2 cup sliced green onion
2 Tablespoons butter
2 cups peas (frozen or fresh)
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon savory
1/4 teaspoon marjoram
1 tablespoon minced parsley
1/2 cup water
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Sauté the green onions in the butter for 5 minutes or until they are tender but not browned. Add the remaining ingredients, cover tightly and cook over low heat until the peas are tender (approximately 25 minutes for fresh peas). Makes 4 full size dinner servings.
